From January 11–24, 2023, Morocco will host the Olympic Shooting Championships in the Trap and Skeet categories for women, men, national teams, and mixed teams. The International Sports Federation (ISSF) revealed this in a press release. She claims that this competition will initially include more than 360 athletes from 45 different countries who represent the best athletic training facilities throughout four continents (Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Asia). This event, which is part of the ISSF's global schedule and whose results will be included in the Ranking International, will feature the best players, including Olympic medalists, world champions, holders of major championship titles, and continental champions, according to the ISSF.
The Fédération royale marocaine de tir sportif (FRMTS) will host this international sporting event at the club des chênes de tir et de loisirs in El Arjat, a neighborhood of Salé. In accordance with the steps taken by the Moroccan government to prevent the spread of the variety Omicron, the FRMTS has announced the cancellation of the world hunting pistol championship scheduled to take place in Rabat in February 2022.
