Soon a stadium bearing Pelé's name in Morocco?

 Gianni Infantino, the president of Fifa, made the announcement on Monday as he was in Santos, in the southeast of Brazil, for the legendary footballer's funeral. Fifa will ask all of its members, including the Moroccans, to dedicate a stadium in Pelé's honor.



Infantino traveled to Brazil to pay tribute to the man who many people believe to be the greatest player of all time at Santos FC's Vila Belmiro Stadium, where the "Roi" began his professional career.


The president of Fifa told reporters, "We're going to ask every country in the world to rename one of their stadiums Pelé."

Along with other football executives, he was one of the first people to gather on Monday morning beside the statue of Pelé, which was placed in the middle of the field at the stadium where the Brazilian penned a portion of his legend.

We're depressed to the brim. Pelé is eternal; he is a global football icon, he continued.

The drapeaux of every nation were raised at the Fifa headquarters in Geneva on Friday following the passing of the quadruple world champion, who had been battling colon cancer for more than a year.

. Numerous hundreds of people gathered on Monday at the Santos FC stadium for the public memorial service, which will end on Tuesday at 10:00. (13H00 GMT).

Next, a parade will walk through Santos's streets before the family-only entrance.
