Spanish media reports that the national police (Policia nacional) has launched an investigation and detained several Polisario bureau employees suspected of falsifying illegal immigrant regularization applications in Spain. In its publication on December 3rd, the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia reported that those accused had taken use of their position as spokespeople for the fictitious organization to engage in this traffic. The same sources state that after discovering the dissemination of dubious documents, a brigade of law enforcement officers monitored and followed the movements of several of this bureau's administrators.
The newspaper Al Ahdath Al Maghribia notes that videos posted on social media show members of the Spanish national police raiding the Polisario office in Madrid and escorting some of its employees to the commissariat. The initial findings of the investigation suggest that several networks were involved in this activity and that some documents bearing the addresses of institutions and government entities in the southern provinces were utilized in this traffic.
It is possible that Moroccan authorities will get involved in this investigation to pursue those responsible for the fraudulent use of official documents bearing the royal seal. A report that was corroborated by the media said that Moroccan and Spanish documents intended for use in entering the Schengen area had been forged.
